Call for Entries: Logo and VI System Design for the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning
I.Introduction
▼
As the first demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Shenzhen needs to step into a completely new phase of globalization. Not only has it displayed the achievements of China’s reform and opening up, but it has also provided an opportunity for the global society to recognize these achievements. Shenzhen is rich in cultural connotation. Its overall development and influence in cultural industry are continuously progressing. The Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning (MOCAUP) is a non-profit organization of “public welfare, academic, and service.” To demonstrate Shenzhen’s exemplary role in reform and innovation of cultural industry, it aims at reconstructing museum into a globalized cultural complex.
MOCAUP is open to the general public. In order to enhance its social exposure and international influence, MOCAUP is in need of a unique identifier to present its value and engage with prospective audiences. Therefore, MOCAUP decides to launch a logo and visual identity (VI) system design competition in the middle of November to construct a new visual identity. Distinctive visual elements should be included in the designs to reflect the characteristics of the venue. Similarly, VI systems should consider the implementation in public space to better promote the culture of MOCAUP.
